How to Measure Your Nails at Home

Measuring your nails at home is a quick and easy way to find your perfect fit—especially if you're in a hurry or prefer not to order a sizing kit.

For the most accurate results, nail sizes are measured in millimetres (mm). Follow the steps below using one of two simple methods.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Choose a Measuring Method: Use Method 1 (Tape & Ruler) or Method 2 (Soft Measuring Tape) below.

  2. Measure Each Nail: Record the width (in mm) of every nail on both hands.

  3. Find Your Size: Match your measurements to our sizing chart to determine your standard set size (XS–XL) or create a custom set.

Method 1: Tape & Ruler

You’ll need: Clear tape, a fine-tip pen, and a ruler with millimetre markings.

  1. Place a piece of clear tape over the widest part of your nail (usually near the middle).

  2. Mark where your nail bed begins and ends—sidewall to sidewall—with the pen.

  3. Remove the tape and lay it flat against the ruler.

  4. Record the width in millimetres.

  5. Repeat for all ten nails.

Method 2: Soft Measuring Tape

You’ll need: A soft or flexible measuring tape (like one used for sewing).

  1. Wrap the tape across the widest part of your nail, from one sidewall to the other.

  2. Note the width in millimetres, where the nail meets the skin.

  3. Repeat for all ten nails.
